Sohar International has grown from a bold ambition into a leading financial institution, redefining banking with innovative solutions and a customer-centric approach. With a network of over 55 branches and more than 55 offsite ATMs across Oman, the bank continues to expand its reach, making financial services more accessible, seamless, and future-ready.
In partnership with Bates Pan Gulf, Dubai, we revamped the Sohar International website with a modern, responsive UI and a full CMS migration to Strapi. The result is a sleek, user-friendly platform powered by a flexible, API-driven backend—designed for easy content management and future scalability.
My Approach:
- Frontend Development: Built using Next.js for a fast, scalable, and optimized user experience.
- CMS Integration: Developed the backend using Strapi, ensuring a highly flexible system where the team can easily make changes or add new content without technical dependencies.
- Database Management: Implemented PostgreSQL for efficient and secure data storage.
- Media & Asset Optimization: Integrated Cloudinary for quick and efficient media delivery, optimizing image and video performance.
- Location Services: Utilized Google Maps API to provide accurate location-based features for enhanced usability.
- Flexible Layout & Custom Widgets: Designed a customizable content management system, allowing seamless updates and effortless scalability.
- Optimized Performance: Ensured fast loading times, mobile responsiveness, and SEO best practices to enhance visibility and engagement.
- Hosting: Deployed on a self-hosted server rather than a cloud-based solution, offering greater control and customization.
Outcome
The newly developed Sohar International website delivers a seamless, high-performance digital experience that’s both interactive and easy to manage. Built with Next.js on the frontend, powered by a flexible Strapi CMS, and optimized with Cloudinary for media delivery, the platform enables smooth content updates and enhanced user engagement.
