As Dubai welcomed over 220,000+ new residents in the first half of 2024, the city’s rapid growth has sparked questions about affordability and lifestyle transitions. In response, we developed Dubai Pulse, an intelligent, browser-based tool designed to help users instantly compare cost-of-living factors between their home country and Dubai.

Whether you’re single, married, or moving with kids, the tool empowers you to calculate the income required in Dubai to sustain your current lifestyle. For example, someone earning ₹50,000 in India can use the tool to determine how much they’d need in Dubai to support a family of three.

The result is a transparent, data-driven solution that brings clarity to relocation decisions in one of the world’s fastest-growing cities.

My Approach:

• Frontend Development: Built with Next.js to ensure a responsive, fast-loading experience across devices.

• Live Data Integration: Fetched real-time cost indices via APIs from sources like Numbeo, Dubai Pulse, and exchangerate.host, ensuring accurate, up-to-date comparisons.

• Dynamic Visualization: Implemented interactive charts for side-by-side comparisons of expenses such as rent, groceries, utilities, and more.

• Mobile Optimization: Designed with a minimal UI, fully responsive across mobile and tablet for easy on-the-go use.

• Data Processing: The system calculates the equivalent income required in Dubai based on live public datasets and user input.

• User Experience: Prioritized clarity and simplicity, guiding users step-by-step through inputs like current location, income, and household size.
